Terms of Service
The part where we have to be legally serious for a minute. We've tried to write this like a person rather than a robot trained exclusively on cease-and-desist letters. Please actually read it.
- BanterIQ is a data tool, not a financial advisor. Do not make investment decisions based solely on our scores.
- You can lose real money investing. Our scores don't change that.
- You must be 18+ to use this platform.
- Don't abuse the platform, scrape our data, or do anything illegal with it.
- We're not liable for investment losses. We said it clearly so there's no confusion.
- AI-generated analyst notes are illustrative commentary, not professional advice.
What BanterIQ actually is
BanterIQ is a stock analysis and screening platform. We run financial data through a weighted algorithmic model and output a conviction score and rating. That's it. It's a tool. A very good one, we think, but a tool.
We are not registered investment advisors, broker-dealers, or financial planners. Nothing on this platform is personalised financial advice. A conviction score of 'Strong Buy' does not mean you should buy it. It means our algorithm liked the fundamentals at the time of the report. Please do your own research before putting real money into anything.
Past performance is not indicative of future results. Quantitative models can be wrong. Markets are irrational. Stocks go up and down for reasons no algorithm fully captures. We're giving you better data, not a guarantee.
Using the platform
By using BanterIQ, you confirm you're at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). Investing involves real money and real risk. This isn't a platform for minors.
Don't share accounts, create fake accounts, or try to game any usage limits. Just make your own account and use it normally.
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse our platform or API. Don't do anything that would put unusual strain on our infrastructure. We're a small team and we will notice.
Don't use BanterIQ for anything illegal, fraudulent, or in violation of securities laws. We're here to democratise access to financial analysis, not to help anyone commit securities fraud.
The big risk disclosure
You can lose money investing in stocks. Sometimes a lot of money. BanterIQ's conviction scores and ratings are outputs of a quantitative model — they reflect historical fundamentals and sector benchmarks, not future performance. A 'Strong Buy' rating does not protect you from a bad earnings report, a macro crash, or a company committing fraud.
Our financial data comes from Financial Modeling Prep, a reputable third-party data provider. We can't guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of that data. Errors in source data will flow through to our scores. Always verify critical figures independently before making investment decisions.
Our scoring model is rules-based and quantitative. It does not capture geopolitical risk, management quality, competitive dynamics, or the thousand other qualitative factors that affect a company's future. It also can't predict black swan events, regulatory changes, or what Elon Musk tweets at 3am.
Every report reflects data at the moment it was generated. Financial conditions change. A report from three months ago may not reflect the current state of a company. Always run a fresh report before making decisions.
What we're not liable for
BanterIQ is not liable for any investment losses you incur, directly or indirectly, as a result of using our platform. If you lose money on a stock after running a BanterIQ report, that is between you, the market, and your own decision-making process.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure data accuracy but cannot guarantee it. We are not liable for losses caused by errors in third-party financial data.
We try to keep the platform running smoothly but can't promise 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance, API outages, and unexpected issues happen. We're not liable for decisions made based on unavailable or delayed data.
Our AI-generated analyst notes (Wall St and Group Chat modes) are produced by large language models. They can hallucinate, be wrong, or miss important context. They are illustrative commentary, not investment analysis from a qualified professional.
Intellectual property
The BanterIQ platform, scoring methodology, design, code, and content are owned by us. You can use the platform as intended but you can't copy it, resell it, or pretend you built it.
The underlying financial data is sourced from Financial Modeling Prep and is subject to their terms of use. We're a licensed user, not the owner of that data.
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we can use them without restriction or compensation. We appreciate the input and we'll try to make the product better with it.
Changes and termination
We'll update this page when our terms change meaningfully. If it's a significant change, we'll give you notice via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the platform, or do anything that puts other users or the platform at risk. We'll try to be reasonable about this.
You can delete your account and stop using BanterIQ at any time. No cancellation fees, no guilt trips. We'll miss you. Maybe.
Contact and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which BanterIQ is incorporated. If there's a dispute, we'd much rather resolve it like adults over email before anyone involves lawyers.
Questions about these terms? Email us at legal@banteriq.com. We're real humans. We respond.
Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what data we collect and what we do with it.
BanterIQ is a quantitative screening tool for educational and informational purposes only. Conviction scores, ratings, and all outputs are generated by an algorithmic model and do not constitute financial advice, investment recommendations, or solicitations to buy or sell any security. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Always conduct your own due diligence and consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.
